The intersection of the pyramid and the prism
The intersection of polyhedra we already considered in the previous video lesson. We built the intersection of the pyramid and the prism and determined their visibility. In this video lesson, we will also construct the intersection of polyhedra (pyramids and prisms) in three projections and determine the visibility of the pyramid and the prism.
Given:
- Straight tetrahedral pyramid and trihedral horizontal prism;
- sides of the base of the pyramid P1F1 = K1E1 = 60 mm; K1P1 = E1F1 = 70 mm;
- height of the pyramid 110 mm;
- The height of the vertical face of the prism is 90 mm;
- the length of all prism edges is 140 mm.

The solution of problems on descriptive geometry I produce in the automated design system AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D. This training will allow you to develop spatial thinking and consolidate the possession of AutoCAD.
The principle of constructing the intersection of polyhedra consists in determining the points of intersection of the edges of each of them with the faces of another polyhedron or by constructing a line of intersection of faces of polyhedra.
The visible lines of intersection of polyhedra are those that belong to their visible faces.
