Array in AutoCAD
We continue to explore editing objects in AutoCAD, and in this lesson we consider the Array command. Often, especially when drawing complex drawings, it is necessary to create arrays in AutoCAD.
You can create an object in AutoCAD, and then use the Copy command and its options raskopirovat Array object in the right amount. But there may be a problem when it is necessary to arrange a copy of the same object in rows, columns, or along a path in a circle. You can use the editing commands in AutoCAD such as Move, Rotate or Align, but this process is very time consuming. Such sequences are identical objects in AutoCAD can create Array command.

The following types of arrays in AutoCAD:
- rectangular array;
- polar array;
- path array.
By default, the new versions of AutoCAD to build arrays is conducted in an interactive mode with the mouse. This method is useful for creating an array on the path, but rectangular and circular pattern in AutoCAD to create better Array using a special dialog box that was used in all the old versions.
Command Array in AutoCAD
For the creation of arrays in AutoCAD meets the Array command, which can cause one of the following methods:
- Modify the line of the menu - Array line;
- Home tab of the ribbon tools - in the group Modify - Array button;
- on the Modify toolbar - Array button;
- or to register the team name on the command line Array.
Use the Array command to create all three types of arrays in AutoCAD. For the convenience of creating arrays in AutoCAD individual Array command option buttons were put in charge of creating a certain type of array.
- Arrayrect command - leads to the rectangular array in AutoCAD;
- Arraypolar command - allows you to make a circular pattern in AutoCAD;
- Arraypath team - allows you to make an array in AutoCAD path.

A preview of the rectangular array created in AutoCAD. You will see a temporary Array Creation tab in the tool belt, which contains all the necessary settings created by a rectangular array of AutoCAD. Temporary Array Creation tab allows you to configure graphically by a rectangular array.
Associative Array command option or how to create an associative array in AutoCAD
Option Associative Array command - allows you to create an associative array in AutoCAD. By default, an associative array is enabled, so the Array Creatin tab tape tools - in the group Properties - Associative button is highlighted in blue, respectively, off the associative array parameter in AutoCAD button is highlighted. All objects are perceived by AutoCAD associative array system as a single object (like a block or a group), and when you change one array object change all of its component objects.
Associative arrays in AutoCAD do not lend themselves to all the commands of editing, only those who do not violate the integrity of the array.
Associative arrays in AutoCAD be disabled only in special cases, for example, if in the future it will be necessary to edit the basic or advanced editing commands that violate its integrity.
If you select Associative Array command from the command line, AutoCAD prompts you:
Create associative array [Yes/No] <Yes>:
In the answer to which is necessary to select Yes or No.
Option Count command Array in AutoCAD
Option Count Array command allows you to specify the number of rows and columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD. First, you need to set the number of columns, then the number of rows of the rectangular array. Select this option, AutoCAD prompts you:
Enter the number of columns or [Expression] <4>:
By default, the column is available 4 rectangular array of AutoCAD. Enter the number of columns of the array 10 on the command line and press Enter. Once you specify the number of columns of a rectangular array, AutoCAD will issue the following query:
Enter the number of rows or [Expression] <3>:
By default, 3 lines available rectangular array of AutoCAD. Enter the number of rows in the array command line 5, and press Enter. Once you specify the number of rows of the rectangular array, AutoCAD will repeat the request:
Select grip to edit array or [ASsociative/Base point/COUnt/Spacing/COLums/Rows/leveLs/eXit]
All the changes made by a rectangular array of parameters are displayed on the sketch.
In the two-dimensional AutoCAD designing this rule is rarely used, but in 3D modeling AutoCAD often.
Option Spacing commands Array in AutoCAD
Option Spacing Array commands in AutoCAD allows you to set consistent spacing (distance) between columns and rows in a rectangular array. Select this option. AutoCAD prompts you:
Specify the distance between columns or [Unit cell] <150>:
Specify the distance between the columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD, use one of the following methods:
- specifying two points in the AutoCAD drawing with the mouse;
- enter the distance value on the command line;
- Unit cell or select an option and two diagonal points of the cell at the same time set the distance between the rows and columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD.
At the command prompt value of the distance between columns 100 mm in the array and press Enter. AutoCAD displays the following query:
Specify the distance between rows <150>:
At the command prompt a negative value for the distance between the array and press lines -150 Enter. According to the sketch created by a rectangular array, you'll notice that the string array in the AutoCAD built down, not up relative to the WCS.
In the picture you can see how the distance taken between the rows and columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD.
Option Columns command Array in AutoCAD
Option Columns Array commands in AutoCAD allows you to select a series: the number of columns of a rectangular array, the distance between columns, the total distance between the start and end column.
Select Columns Array commands in AutoCAD. prompted the command prompt:
Enter the number of columns or [Expression] <10>:
The default is 10 columns of the rectangular array of triangular brackets, which is taken from the previous constructions. Change the number of columns of a rectangular array of 5 by typing in the command line 5, and press Enter. On the sketch array AutoCAD will display the changes made. AutoCAD will issue the following query:
Specify the distance between columns or [Total/Expression] <100>:
The default is the distance between the columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD 100 mm triangular brackets, which is taken from the previous constructions. There is a new option Total Array command, which allows you to specify the total distance between the start and end column of the array. Select this option. AutoCAD prompts you:
Enter total distance between start and end columns <400>:
At the command prompt 1000, and press Enter. Accordingly, the distance between the rectangular array of columns is automatically calculated from the set of the total distance.
In the picture you can see how the total distance is taken between the start and end columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD.
Temporary tab Array Creation tools tape contains Columns group, which includes the Array Options Options Columns command in AutoCAD. Through Columns group settings, you can visually customize the columns of a rectangular array of AutoCAD.
Option Rows commands Array in AutoCAD
Option Rows Array commands in AutoCAD allows you to select a series: the number of rows of the rectangular array, the distance between the lines, the total distance between the start and end line.
Select Rows Array commands in AutoCAD. prompted the command prompt:
Enter the number of rows or [Expression] <5>:
The default is 5 rows in a rectangular array of triangular brackets, which is taken from the previous constructions. Change the number of rows of the rectangular array of 3, this command line, type 3 and press Enter. On the sketch array AutoCAD will display the changes made. AutoCAD will issue the following query:
Specify the distance between rows or [Total/Expression] <-150>:
The default is the distance between the lines of a rectangular array of AutoCAD 150 mm triangular brackets, which is taken from the previous constructions. The minus sign in front of 150 means that the rectangular array of lines were built along the negative direction of axis Y. A new option Total Array command, which allows you to specify the total distance between the start and end of the array string. Select this option. AutoCAD prompts you:
Enter total distance between start and end rows <-300>:
At the command prompt 900 and press Enter. Accordingly, the distance between the lines of the rectangular array is automatically calculated on the basis of a given total distance.

Call the Array command in AutoCAD. prompted the command prompt:
Select objects:
Choose a pre-established regular polygon in AutoCAD and press Enter. AutoCAD prompts you:
Specify center point of array of [Base point/Axis of rotation]:
You must specify the center point of the circular pattern in AutoCAD, which will be distributed around the array elements. By specifying the center point of the circular pattern in AutoCAD, you describe the circular pattern axis of rotation. By default, the rotation axis is the Z axis of the current UCS.
Specify center point of array you can enter the coordinates in the command line, or click on the drawing.
Option Base point of the polar array of AutoCAD
Default base point, as for the rectangular array in AutoCAD is the center of the rectangle circumscribing the objects selected for copying. After the base point of a circular array of AutoCAD draws a line of the circle, along which runs the reproduction of objects.
Select the Base point option. AutoCAD prompts:
Specify base point or [Key point]
Let us click the top corner of the pentagon.
Option Axis of rotation of the polar array of AutoCAD
Option Axis of rotation is used to build 3D circular pattern in AutoCAD (need to specify two spatial point through which the axis of rotation of the user will be held). The AutoCAD 3D modeling, we analyze in detail the creation of three-dimensional circular arrays.
